Definition of Student via By-laws Committee Informational ; $15.00 membership / new student membership category Action Upon further review, the Board [supports] the development of a Student Membership Category parallel to the AALL Student Membership category description: " A student member must be enrolled in a degree program related to law librarianship. Membership in this category is limited to five consecutive years. " (https://secure.aallnet.org/aall_application.asp). The two SANDALL Member Categories will be Student and Regular.
IV D. Webpage redesign - Update Informational IV E. Pacific Chapter Joint Reception - Update Informational The Board returns to the discussion of unused funds from the 2004 AALL Pacific Chapter Joint Reception. It is agreed that the Board will poll the chief donor (West Publishing) whether it wishes a return of left over monies. If West does not wish a return of the remaining funds, the Board will begin the process of determining how we might best apply the balance. LLOPS (Law librarians of Puget Sound) are organizing the next Pacific Chapter Joint Reception (2005 San Antonio ) in concert with WESTPAC. IV F. 2005 AALL annual meeting joint chapter reception rotation & schedule Update Informational [TABLED] ? IV G. EMAIL BUSINESS - Workshop attendance fees for Program Committee - Update V. New Business
V. A. AALL Chapter Visit - Action V. B. SANDALL Membership Directory - Action V. C. SANDALL GRC request for autonomy to draft letters supporting legislation - Action VI. Odds & Ends The Board is in agreement that the JI should be a shared sponsorship among the three California Law Library Associations. That is, support in organizing and sponsoring the event should extend to all three organizations, not just the geographically proximate member group. The Board feels strongly that selection of a JI site does not mean programming (etc.) becomes a de facto local issue. San Diego would take the lead, for example, on social organization, if San Diego is the "host" city, but the Joint Institute would remain a joint effort. If the JI were to be held in San Diego , the San Diego Catamaran Resort Hotel is suggested as one potential site. The Catamaran Resort has sufficient room for the Institute participants and it is an aesthetically appealing resort destination. The projected date for the JI is spring 2006. VII. Announcements Personal contact with Founders' Tea invitees will be appropriate to maximize feedback to the organization. The Board volunteers to contact former members.
