Library Technical Services/Acquisition Specialist (Job #2417) —Yorkson Legal, Inc.

Prestigious law firm is seeking a Technical Services/Acquisitions Specialist in the Library Services Department, reporting to the Director, U.S. Libraries.  

Job Description: 

The Specialist's duties and responsibilities encompass a wide range within the technical and acquisitions fields.  The Specialist is responsible for processing all materials that come into the library, directing the flow of materials to appropriate staff/offices.  This person is the primary contact for vendor relations.  He/she is responsible for all print orders, standing orders, and print/non-print material requests from foreign offices, NY office lawyers and staff, in consultation with the Director.  The Specialist is responsible for the assignment of database passwords and maintenance of master password lists.  He/she maintains acquisition records and works with the Director to monitor and compile data for the Library's annual budget.  

Job & Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years prior experience in a library required, significant work experience in technical services/acquisitions in a law library desired.
  • Experience with computers, Excel, databases, and the Internet required.
  • Superior organizational skills, the ability to set priorities, and a strong attention to detail required.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team as well as function independently.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
